The invention discloses a heat preservation agent capable of prolonging falling time and a preparation method thereof. The heat preservation agent comprises sepiolite fabric, low-calcium aluminate cement, an inorganic adhesive, lithium-based bentonite and nano ceramic microbeads; and specifically 10-20% of sepiolite fabric, 14-20% of low-calcium aluminate cement, 28-36% of the inorganic adhesive,2-5% of lithium-based bentonite, 4-8% of nano ceramic microspheres, 10-15% of pure water, 3-5% of polyvinyl alcohol and 7-10% of gelatin. The preparation method of the heat preservation agent capableof prolonging falling time comprises the following steps: 1, raw material selecting; 2, base material mixing; 3, adding of an auxiliary agent; 4, heating for use; according to the heat preservation agent, a traditional heat preservation agent is improved and optimized, formula materials of the heat preservation agent are common, later preparation is facilitated, the adhesion time of the heat preservation agent to a mold is prolonged, then the production time of a mold casting plate is prolonged, the production efficiency is improved, and the yield is increased.
