The invention provides a water taking device with an automatic purification function. The device comprises a water taking pipe, the water taking pipe is provided with a water suction end and a water discharging end, and a filter screen box is arranged at the water suction end of the water taking pipe; the water discharging end of the water taking pipe is downwards connected with a heart-shaped conveying device, a mandrel of the heart-shaped conveying device is outwards and transversely connected with a spiral conveying pipe, and the mandrel of the heart-shaped conveying device and a spiral shaft of the spiral conveying pipe are coaxially arranged; the heart-shaped conveying device is downwards connected with a U-shaped pipe, and two straight pipe parts on the U-shaped pipe communicate withthe heart-shaped conveying device and the spiral conveying pipe correspondingly; and the U-shaped pipe is arranged to be of a mesh structure, and the sum of the sectional areas of meshes in the U-shaped pipe is larger than the pipe diameter sectional area of the water discharging end of the water taking pipe. The water taking device is simple in structure and convenient to use, and the unpoweredcleaning effect on impurities contained in taken water is achieved when the riverway water taking device takes water.
