The invention relates to a jet shaper (1) for shaping from a liquid (6) a jet consisting of multiple subjets (4) of the liquid (6), and to a spray shaper (30). The jet shaper (1) comprises a spray former (2) and a spray distributor (3). The spray former (2) is arranged to generate from the liquid (6) a spray of the liquid (6) in a shape of a spray cone (5) under ambient condition. The spray distributor (3) is arranged to shape from the spray of the liquid (6) the jet of the liquid (6), wherein the jet of the liquid (6) consists of multiple subjets (4) of the liquid (6) being free of mutual overlap. The spray former (2) comprises a spray former outlet (11) and a flight chamber (10). The flight chamber (10) is arranged to allow droplets of the spray to follow a flight path from the spray former outlet (11) in an essentially straight line towards the spray distributor (3). The invention also relates to a method for shaping a jet consisting of multiple subjets (4) of the liquid (6), with the liquid droplets inside the spray cone following an essentially straight flight path.
