The invention relates to the technical field of building materials, and concretely relates to a preparation method of a fireproof door core material. The preparation method comprises the following steps: dissolving magnesium sulfate crystals in water to obtain a magnesium sulfate solution with the concentration of 26-30 [mu]m; selecting the following raw materials, by weight, 100-160 parts of magnesium oxide, 150-200 parts of the magnesium sulfate solution, 1.5-3 parts of a modifier, 1-2 parts of a reinforcing agent and 1-2 parts of polypropylene fibers; uniformly stirring the selected raw materials to obtain a raw slurry; selecting 1-2 parts of a foaming agent, adding water according to a ratio of 1:40, performing foaming treatment, and adding the foamed water into the raw slurry after foaming to obtain a door core plate slurry; and pouring the door core plate slurry into a forming die, and curing the door core plate slurry to obtain the fireproof door core material. The fireproof door core material has the advantages of being simple in production process, convenient to produce and process, good in fireproof performance, capable of saving energy, environmentally friendly and the like.
