The present invention provides a steel slag water-permeable brick and a preparation method thereof. The steel slag water-permeable brick comprises a surface layer and a bottom layer, the surface layercomprises the following raw material components: steel slag fine aggregate, cement, an alkali-resistant additive and water, and the bottom layer comprises the following raw material components: steelslag coarse aggregate, cement, stone chips, an alkali-resistant additive and water. According to the invention, the alkali-resistant additive is added into the surface layer and the bottom layer, andorganic silicon-containing macromolecular substances in the alkali-resistant additive cover the surfaces of aggregate particles, so that release of alkaline substances in aggregate is inhibited, theconcentration of alkaline soluble salt substances in concrete is reduced, and efflorescence on the surface of a brick body is reduced.
