The invention provides an intersection side alternate construction method for a dense built up area. The method comprises the following steps that a first intersection side alternate construction enclosure area and a second intersection side alternate construction enclosure area are sealed, and a first intersection side alternate construction open area is reserved; the first intersection side alternate construction enclosure area is shortened to as to form the shortened first intersection side alternate construction enclosure area, and the second intersection side alternate construction enclosure area is extended so as to form the extended second intersection side alternate construction enclosure area; and the shortened first intersection side alternate construction enclosure area and theextended second intersection side alternate construction enclosure area are closed, and a second intersection side alternate construction open area is reserved. By means of the method, traffic is notinfluenced, and when side alternate construction is carried out on an underground comprehensive pipe gallery at an intersection with heavy traffic, the implementation speed of open cut construction ofthe underground comprehensive pipe gallery at the intersection can be effectively increased.
