The invention discloses a secondary water supply system with a purifying function and a secondary water supply method. The secondary water supply system with the purifying function comprises a water tank body and a flow stabilizing device, and a municipal water pipeline is connected with the water tank body and the water inlet end of the flow stabilizing device separately. The secondary water supply system with the purifying function is characterized in that two retaining walls are vertically arranged in the water tank body and partition the water tank body into a water inlet pool, a sedimentation pool and a clear water pool, the water inlet pool and the sedimentation pool are adjacent and are partitioned by the first retaining wall, the bottom of the first retaining wall is provided witha water inlet channel for communicating the water inlet pool and the sedimentation pool, the water inlet pool and the sedimentation pool and the clear water pool are partitioned by the second retaining wall, the top of the second retaining wall is provided with an overflow channel for communicating the sedimentation pool and the clear water pool, multiple sedimentation units are arranged in the sedimentation pool, the municipal water pipeline is connected with the water inlet pool, the pipeline port is provided with a water inlet valve, a liquid level detecting mechanism used for switching theopened and closed states of the water inlet valve is arranged in the clear water pool, and a sewage draining pipeline is arranged at the bottom end of the sedimentation pool. The secondary water supply system with the purifying function has the advantages that strengthening sedimentation and side filtration are combined, the water purifying efficiency is good, cleaning is convenient, and normal secondary water supply of residents is not influenced.
