The invention relates to a gantry crane with a windproof function for bridge construction. The gantry crane comprises a top plate, a processor, a translation block, a translation mechanism, a windproof mechanism, a transportation mechanism and two support plates. The transportation mechanism comprises a first motor, a sleeve, a rotating shaft, a reel, a steel wire rope, a hook and a brake assembly. The brake assembly comprises an electromagnet, a spring, an iron rod and two sliding units. The windproof mechanism comprises two driving assemblies and two windproof plates. Each driving assembly comprises a vertical plate, a lifting unit, a lifting block and two support rods. The gantry crane with the windproof function for bridge construction can be automatically clamped to a convex rod afterbeing powered off while transporting of goods through the transportation mechanism, so that the reel cannot rotate, and the situation that the goods fall and are damaged, and the safety accident is caused is avoided; and in addition, the windproof mechanism is utilized in the transportation process, so that the goods are located in the tubular protection space and prevented from shaking when blown by wind, the influence on the stability of transportation is avoided, the windproof protection is carried out, and the practicability of the device is improved.
