The invention discloses a connection joint and installation method of assembled steel structure external hanging wallboards of a building. The connection joint comprises a fixed support, a hanging piece and a fixed seat, wherein the top of one end of the fixed seat is connected with a fixed plate to form the L-shaped fixed seat; a through hole used for sleeving the fixed plate is formed in the hanging piece; the fixed support is installed on the top of the hanging piece through connecting bolts; the top of the fixed plate is provided with a fixing bolt which penetrates through the fixed support; one end, out of the fixed support, of the fixing bolt is screwed tightly through a fixing nut; the fixed support is connected with an installation seat; and the hanging piece is connected with installation plates. The installation method comprises the steps that the hanging piece is connected on a lower wallboard; a connecting support is welded on one side of a cross beam; the L-shaped fixed seat is welded on the top of the connecting support, and part of the L-shaped fixed seat is welded on the top of the cross beam; the hanging piece on the lower wallboard sleeves the L-shaped fixed seat,and an adjusting bolt assembly is rotated; an upper wallboard is placed on the top of the lower wallboard; and the fixed support is connected with the L-shaped fixed seat, the upper wallboard and thehanging piece.
