The invention discloses a color-changing paperbacked plasterboard and a preparation method thereof. The color-changing paperbacked plasterboard comprises a paperbacked plasterboard, a color-changing layer arranged on the surface of the paperbacked plasterboard and a protective decorative layer optionally arranged on the surface of the color-changing layer. The method comprises the steps that raw materials for preparing the color-changing layer are weighed, uniformly mixed and then sprayed on the surface of the paperbacked plasterboard; and the decorative layer is optionally coated on the surface of the color-changing layer. According to the color-changing paperbacked plasterboard, the self color can be changed along with the change of the temperature or light in the environment, the cold and warm hue change of the indoor space is realized, there is no need to paste additional decorative wallpaper, the appearance is attractive, the cost is low, and no harmful substance such as formaldehyde is released.
