The invention provides a milling cutter alarm system and a milling machine. The milling cutter alarm system is used for a milling machine with a milling drum; a plurality of milling cutters are arranged on the milling drum; and each milling cutter comprises a plurality of layers of structures with different colors from outside to inside. The milling cutter alarm system comprises a detection assembly which is arranged on the rack of the milling machine, corresponds to the milling cutters and is used for detecting the color information of the milling cutters, a controller which is arranged in the milling machine, is electrically connected with the detection assembly, and determines the abrasion degree of the milling cutters according to the color information of the milling cutters which is detected by the detection assembly, and an alarm device which is arranged in the milling machine and electrically connected with the controller so as to give out a corresponding alarm prompt accordingto the abrasion degree of the milling cutters. With the milling cutter alarm system provided by the technical schemes of the invention adopted, the abrasion degree of the milling cutters can be accurately determined, a detection result is not influenced by measurement angles and relative positions, and the operation quality and efficiency of the milling machine can be improved.
