The light tundish dry material is prepared from 5-15 parts of 0-1 mm magnesia, 10-25 parts of 1-3 mm magnesia, 15-30 parts of 200-mesh magnesia,2-20 parts of 0-1 mm olivine, 3-30 parts of 1-3 mm olivine, 3-25 parts of 200-mesh waste magnesia carbon brick dust removal powder, 1-5 parts of 0-1 mm silicon carbide and 1-10 parts of a binding agent modified resin. The light tundish dry material is high in normal-temperature breaking strength and compressive strength, the breaking strength is larger than 2 MPa, the compressive strength is larger than 8 MPa, the silicon carbide heat conduction coefficient is high, the expansion coefficient is low, the heat stability is good, high-temperature pressure resistance is achieved, the breaking strength is large, and the chemical performances are stable. Needle-shaped and fiber-shaped SiC is interspersed or dispersed in the skeleton structure of periclase, so that the reinforcing and tougheningeffects are achieved.
