The lubricant comprises the following components in parts by mass: 80-95 parts of layered silicate minerals, 1-20 parts of cellulose ether, 1-10 parts of a thickening modifier, 0.1-4 parts of a surfactant and 5-25 parts of redispersible latex powder. The plastering gypsum comprises 0.05%-0.18% of the lubricant in percentage by mass. The preparation method of the lubricant comprises the following steps: mixing 80-95 parts of layered silicate minerals, 1-20 parts of cellulose ether, 1-10 parts of a thickening modifier, 0.1-4 parts of a surfactant and 5-25 parts of redispersible latex powder to obtain the lubricant for plastering gypsum. The preparation method has the beneficial effects that the preparation method is simple and convenient, the prepared lubricant is good in use effect, and the plastering gypsum added with the lubricant has good water-retaining property, cohesiveness and construction smoothness.
