According to the technical scheme, the strengthening structure comprises a plurality of glass fiber boards, main supporting columns on the surface of a wall body, abutting boards fixedly connected between the main supporting columns, and supporting rods horizontally arranged at the bottom of a floor board. The construction method comprises the following steps: a, cleaning the surface of the wall body; b, pasting the glass fiber boards; c, installing connecting columns; d, installing the main supporting columns; e, welding the abutting boards, the supporting rods, reinforcing rods and reinforcing boards; and f, pouring cement. The inner side and the outer side are supported by the glass fiber boards, steel pipes and supporting plates, so that the wall body is reinforced, the requirement for wall body reinforcement is met, the occupied space inside an old building is reduced, and the influence on the usage space of the old building is reduced.
