The embodiments of the invention provide a modular building structural unit and a building. The modular building structural unit includes three side trusses, a middle truss and three welded joints, wherein the three side trusses are arranged in a triangular shape, the middle truss is arranged in a triangle space enclosed by the three side trusses, and the middle truss includes one or more triangular truss units; when the truss unit is one, three top points of the truss unit are respectively connected with the side trusses, and when the truss units are multiple, the three top points of each truss unit are respectively connected with the side trusses or with the top points of another truss unit, and each side truss is connected with the truss units; and the three welded joints are respectively arranged at the top points of the triangle formed by the three side trusses. The modular building structural unit is simple in structure, convenient to produce and process, good in stability, highin structural strength, small in field installation workload, convenient to install, and high in installation accuracy and efficiency.
