The invention discloses a slurry purification and water collection system and method based on a filter cloth dehydrator. The filter cloth dehydrator comprises filter cloth and two belt rotating shafts; filter cloth is of an annular structure, wherein the filter cloth bypasses the two belt rotating shafts; a gypsum dehydration area, a filtrate dehydration area and a gypsum washing area are arrangedbetween the two belt rotating shafts; the gypsum dehydration area, the filtrate dehydration area and the gypsum flushing area are sequentially distributed along the movement direction of upper filtercloth; a vacuum box is positioned between the two belt rotating shafts; the filter cloth surrounds the periphery of the vacuum box; a top opening of the vacuum box is in contact with the bottom of the upper half part of the filter cloth; gypsum water spray heads are arranged in the gypsum dehydration area, filtrate spray heads are arranged in the filtrate dehydration area, flushing spray heads are arranged in the gypsum flushing area, and solid-liquid separation of filtrate and low-density slurry can be achieved while the normal gypsum removal effect is achieved through the system and the method.
