The method comprises the steps: carrying out a reaction on sulfur-phosphorus mixed acid with phosphorite to prepare phosphoric acid and hemihydrate gypsum, filtering to obtain a high-concentration hemihydrate phosphoric acid product and coarse hemihydrate gypsum, recrystallizing the coarse hemihydrate gypsum twice to generate alpha hemihydrate gypsum, and finally filtering, washing and dryingto obtain the alpha-type high-strength gypsum. Decoloration treatment is carried out in the reaction process, and the whiteness of the obtained alpha-type high-strength gypsum is white.
