The invention discloses a river garbage collection device for environmental protection engineering. The river garbage collection device comprises a floating plate. The sides, opposite to the two fixed seats, of the splitter plate are inclined planes, and two collecting grooves are formed between the two sides of the splitter plate and the two fixed seats. The two sides of the top of the floating plate are connected with fixed shafts through bearings, and the circumferences of the two fixed shafts are connected with guide plates in a sleeving mode. The sides, away from the guide plates, of the floating plate are connected with fixed rods through fastening bolts, and collection net bags are bounded at the circumferences of the fixed rods. When the river garbage collectiondevice is used, and when the water surface of a river is calm, a baffle moves downwards due to the gravity of an arc-shaped plate, at this time, the baffle blocks openings of the collection net bags,so that the water surface pollution due to the floating out of garbage in the collection net bags is avoided.
