The invention discloses a bolt connecting method of a socket type steel column and belongs to the technical field of building construction. The bolt connecting method comprises the following steps ofS1, welding an inside connecting steel plate and an outside connecting steel plate to one end of the steel column to form a groove as a connecting part; S2, forming a proper amount of self-anchoring bolt holes around the steel plate and the steel column; and S3, in site construction, when the steel columns at the upper and lower ends need to be in abut joint, inserting the steel column without theconnecting piece at one end into another groove in one end with the connecting piece, aligning the hole sites with the inside connecting steel plate and the outside connecting steel plate and inserting self-anchoring bolts into the bolt holes from the outer side for fastening connection. According to the invention, the upper and lower columns are abutted precisely, and the bolt connecting methodis convenient to construct and environment-friendly in construction and reduces adverse effect that an external expanding lug plate occupies a space. The bolt connecting method can overcome the defects that welding construction is low in efficiency, high in labor cost, short in welder, complex in process, and pollutes the environment and the like.
