The invention discloses a pedestrian warning device for sidewalk construction. The device comprises a base and a sliding cavity located in the base and provided with an upward opening, a rotating cavity which is located on the left side of the sliding cavity and communicates with the sliding cavity is formed in the base, a working box is fixedly arranged on the upper end surface of the base, a rectangular sliding cavity located on the upper side of the rotating cavity is formed in the working box, and sensing devices are arranged in the rectangular sliding cavity, the rotating cavity and the sliding cavity. When the sensing devices detect that a pedestrian walks on a sliding plate provided by the invention, an electric control device is used for supplying power to a motor, a prompt bell ofthe pedestrian warning device makes a sound and promotes the pedestrian on a maintained road section, the pedestrian can pay attention to the road surface condition and actively bypass, and if the pedestrian still does not pay attention to continuing to move forwards, a baffle can slide forwards to abut against the chest of the pedestrian, so the pedestrian is prevented from continuing to move forwards to cause dangers.
