The squatting and sitting dual-purpose toilet stool comprises a urinal and a lifting supporting device. The urinal comprises a bottom plate and a side wall, and the output end of the lifting supporting device is connectedto the upper end side of the side wall so as to drive the side wall to ascend and descend in the height direction of the side wall. The using method comprises the following steps of: when the heightof the side wall of the urinal is not suitable for a user, controlling the lifting supporting device to drive the side wall to ascend and descend to a suitable first height; and after the toilet is used by squatting, controlling the lifting supporting device to drive the side wall to rise to a second height to flush the urinal. The lifting supporting device drives the side wall to ascend and descend in the height direction of the side wall, switching between the squatting function and the sitting function of the toilet stool is achieved, meanwhile, the urinal and the lifting supporting deviceare directly installed on the ground, sinking or standing is not needed, a user can directly stand on the ground with two feet to go to the toilet, installation is easy and convenient, the structure is simple, and operation is convenient.
