The invention discloses a bridge expansion joint protection mechanism which comprises a transmission module, a protection module and an execution module. The transmission module comprises a protectionshell, an upper protection panel, a lower protection panel, a transmission motor, a transmission motor support supporting column, a transmission motor support, a transmission driving gear, a transmission driven gear, a transmission shaft support, a transmission shaft and a transmission execution gear. In the invention, the protection module is arranged; when an opposite joint of the device is clamped by pebbles, the pebbles can be separated from the opposite joint in a vibration mode, and damage to a bridge due to an overlarge stress is prevented; and a large amount of airflow can be generated in a deflation frame through the arrangement of the execution module, at the moment, if dust or the pebbles approach the protection module, the dust or the pebbles can be blown away, and the situation that the device is damaged due to a fact that the dust or the pebbles are clamped to the opposite joint is avoided.
