The invention discloses a universal lock body. The universal lock body is characterized by comprising a lock shell, a tilting rod, a push plate and a handle shifting piece rotating synchronously witha handle, wherein the handle shifting piece is in linkage with the tilting rod and the push plate, the tilting rod drives a pin plate, the pin plate is limited to linearly slide on the lock shell, thepush plate is limited to move in the direction perpendicular to the sliding direction of the pin plate, the handle shifting piece drives the push plate to the maximum moving stroke, after the handleshifting piece is released, the push plate is reset by a first reset mechanism, a lock plate with multiple clamping positions is arranged on the push plate, one gear of clamping position of the lock plate is used for limiting a limiting post at the tail of the pin plate, the limiting post is disengaged from the clamping position when the lock plate moves along with the push plate, and when the push plate is at the initial position, the limiting post is located in the first-gear clamping position; when the push plate moves to the maximum stroke, the limiting post is correspondingly located at the limit clamping position farthest away from the first-gear clamping position; and when the push plate resets, the lock plate resets along with the push plate and enables the limit clamping positionto be in butt joint with the limiting post. The universal lock body has the advantages that full locking can be realized by twisting the handle once, the operation is convenient, and meanwhile, unlocking using a key is also available, so that the adaptability is wide.
