The invention discloses a herringbone ladder for construction. The herringbone ladder comprises a front frame body, a rear frame body and a top seat fixed on the tops of the front frame body and the rear frame body, wherein two side edges of the front frame body and the rear frame body are in sliding connection with first connecting rods and second connecting rods respectively; a first supportingplate and a second supporting plate are fixed on the first connecting rods and the second connecting rods respectively; and the rear ends of the first supporting plate and the second supporting plateare both connected with lifting assemblies, and the lifting assemblies pull the first supporting plate to move upwards and the second supporting plate to move downwards when rotating forward and pullthe first supporting plate to move downwards and the second supporting plate to move upwards when rotating reversely. Putty materials are transported by controlling the first supporting plate and thesecond supporting plate to move up and down alternately, the traditional way that operators need to go up and down the ladder to take materials repeatedly is replaced, time is saved, and the labor intensity and the danger degree are reduced.
