The invention provides a wind-blocking and sand-protecting cover suitable for land desertification treatment, and relates to the technical field of land desertification treatment. The problem that existing wind-blocking and sand-protecting covers cannot effectively protect seedling plants which are cultivated in arid sand land and used for treating desertification and preventing water and soil loss, and consequently the seedling plants are very liable to be buried by wind-blown sand so that the seedling plants cannot continue to survive is solved. The wind-blocking and sand-protecting cover suitable for land desertification treatment comprises a wind-blocking and sand-protecting cover base, wherein the wind-blocking and sand-protecting cover base comprises a wind-blocking and sand-protecting cover bulge. Desert plant roots are guided by guiding cotton slivers containing water sources, each plant root penetrates through two corresponding round thin sponge layers embedded into one corresponding through hole, after the plant roots go through the through holes, under the action of hydrotaxis of the plant roots, the plant roots vertically grow deep and around, and thus the roots which go through the through holes cover the peripheral areas in the arid sand land, so that effects of fixing an arid sand land structure and preventing water and soil loss are achieved.
