The invention relates to the field of water-based functional paints, and provides a self-repairing polymer cement waterproof paint and a preparation method thereof. The waterproof paint is composed ofa liquid material and a powder material. The liquid material contains a self-repairing core-shell capsule. A shell layer of the capsule is resin, and an inner core of the capsule is composed of sodium alginate, polyoxyethylene octadecylamine, super-hydrophobic silica aerogel powder and water. When a coating has fine cracks, the shell layer of the capsule is broken, the sodium alginate is in contact with calcium hydroxide obtained after cement hydration, crosslinking is conducted under the action of Ca<2+>, and a three-dimensional net-shaped object is formed to block the cracks. The super-hydrophobic silicon dioxide aerogel powder is distributed in the network structure of the three-dimensional net-shaped object, so strength is improved, secondary cracking is prevented, and water resistance is improved by utilizing the super-hydrophobicity of the super-hydrophobic silicon dioxide aerogel powder. Therefore, a coating formed by the polymer cement waterproof paint has good self-repairingperformance, secondary cracking of repaired cracks is avoided, and good impermeability is still kept after dry-wet circulation.
