The external wall thermal insulation device comprises a mounting plate, wherein the mounting plate is connected to an external thermal insulation board through a connecting mechanism; a plurality of lug bosses with isosceles trapezoid shaped sections are fixedly connected on the side wall, away from the thermal insulation board, of the mounting plate; a connecting slot is formed in the vertical side wall of one side of the mounting plate; a first blocking hole is formed in the slot wall, close to the lug bosses, of the connecting slot; the first blocking hole is close to the slot bottom of the connecting slot; a storage slot is formed in the side wall, away from the connecting slot, of the mounting plate; the storage slot is connected to a connecting block through a limiting mechanism; one end, away from the slot bottomof the storage slot, of the connecting block passes through the slot hole of the storage slot and extends outwards; and a first blocking slot which is matched with the first blocking hole is formed in the side wall, close to the lug bosses, of the connecting block. According to the external wall thermal insulation device for the aluminum formwork structure disclosed by the invention, the thermalinsulation boards can be tightly connected, and external thermal insulation boards are conveniently replaced, so that use efficiency of the device is improved.
