The mortise lock comprises a shell, wherein a first lock tongue hole and a second lock tongue hole are formed in one side of the shell, an inclined tongue assembly capable of moving left and right, a safety lock tongue assembly capable of moving left and right and a rotatable handle rotation assembly are arranged in the shell, and the inclined tongue assembly is connected with an inclined tongue reset piece which can drive an inclined tongue to extend out of the first lock tongue hole through elastic force; the safety lock tongue assembly comprises a safety tongue capable of extending out of the second lock tongue hole; and the handle rotation assembly comprises a shifting piece, the head end of the shifting piece is connected with the inclined tongue assembly, and the tail end of the shifting piece is connected with the safety lock tongue assembly through a linkage mechanism. Compared with an existing lock body, a user can perform door locking and unlocking operations indoors through a handle, and the lock is convenient and quick, safe and reliable.
