The invention provides an intelligent lock and a control method thereof. The intelligent lock comprises a lock case, a control main board and a bolt assembly which are contained in the lock case; theintelligent lock further comprises a Hall switch and a magnetic pole assembly which are electrically connected to the control main board and contained in the lock case; the Hall switch is arranged atone end of the lock case, a magnetic pole is assembled at the other end of the lock case, and a permanent magnet is arranged adjacently to the magnetic pole assembly; and the control main board controls the magnetic on/off between the magnetic pole assembly and the permanent magnet so as to control the bolt assembly to stretch along the lock case. Compared with related technologies, the intelligent lock provided by the invention is opened and locked in a manner of motorless control, and cost is saved; with motor noise, the intelligent lock is quieter; and the intelligent lock has a simple structure, convenient installation; longer service life, a special compression spring, and the service life is between 10 million times and 1 billion times.
