The invention discloses a transverse anti-seismic structure of a frame type bridge pier, which is used for remarkably improving the transverse anti-seismic performance of the frame type bridge pier and is convenient to construct. The structure is composed of a pier cover beam, a left side pier column and a right side pier column, wherein a single-rod bidirectional viscous damper is fixedly arranged on the lower edge of the middle span of the pier cover beam, and the axis of a piston rod of the single-rod bidirectional viscous damper extends in the longitudinal direction of the pier cover beam.Inhaul cable steering devices are vertically arranged on the left side pier column and the right side pier column at intervals, and inhaul cable fixing devices are fixed to the lower ends of the inhaul cable steering devices. The two ends of the piston rod are connected with a left inhaul cable and a right inhaul cable respectively, the left inhaul cable and the right inhaul cable are crossed between the left pier stud and the right pier stud through the corresponding inhaul cable steering devices, and the lower ends of the left inhaul cable and the right inhaul cable are connected to the inhaul cable fixing devices.
