A vertical vibration damping device for vibration isolation buildings is provided with a stainless steel top plate with a contact surface subjected to mirror surface treatment, and the top plate is fixed on an upper buttress through a connecting sleeve and an upper anchoring bolt; a viscoelastic damper device is arranged and comprises an outer steel cylinder and an inner steel cylinder, an inner sleeve is coaxially and fixedly connected inside the outer steel cylinder, the inner steel cylinder is inserted between the outer steel cylinder and the inner sleeve, and a viscoelastic material interlayer is bonded between the inner surface of the inner steel cylinder and the outer surface of the inner sleeve; and cylindrical helical springs are coaxially arranged between the outer side of the inner steel cylinder and the inner side of the outer steel cylinder, the upper bottom surfaces of the springs are propped against the upper bottom surface of the outer steel cylinder, and the lower bottom surfaces of the springs are propped against the lower bottom plate of the inner steel cylinder. According to the vertical vibration damping device for vibration isolation buildings, the deformationof the horizontal plane of a structure is not influenced, the influence of vibration and secondary noise of subway operation on a building can be effectively reduced, and the comfort level of personnel in the building and the safety of instruments and equipment are guaranteed. The vibration damping function is played, and in order to adapt to the high-frequency vertical vibration caused by subwayoperation, the parallel-connected steel cylindrical helical springs can improve the reset speed of the viscoelastic damper.
