The invention relates to the technical field of coatings, and provides a preparation method of a decorative plate. The preparation method comprises the following steps that a colored paint film is formed on the surface of water according to a pre-designed texture pattern, wherein the colored paint film is formed by blending at least two oily colored paints; and a base plate is immersed into a mixed system of the oily colored paints and the water to form a decorative coating on the surface of the base plate. The decorative plate prepared by using the preparation method is rich and colorful in surface effect and natural in texture, and the problems that texture patterns formed by using an existing method are limited, rich and colorful decorative patterns, such as colorful and stone-like effects, are difficult to produce, the surface effect is poor and unnatural are solved.
