The invention discloses a high-temperature calcination method for hemihydrate gypsum, belonging to the field of gypsum powder calcination. The method comprises the following steps: 1, heating dihydrate gypsum powder by adopting high-temperature calcination equipment, and controlling the temperature of the heated dihydrate gypsum powder to be (160 +/- 10 DEG C); 2, conveying the calcined gypsum powder with a temperature higher than 150 DEG C into a waste-heat self-calcining bin body in an instant heat preservation state; 3, subjecting the gypsum powder obtained in the step 2 to heat preservation in the waste heat self-calcining bin body for 1 h or longer, and maintaining the temperature of the gypsum powder in the waste heat self-calcining bin body between 120 DEG C and 165 DEG C; and 4, outputting the gypsum powder which has undergone heat preservation time for 1 hour or more from the waste heat self-calcining bin body. The method has the characteristics of energy conservation and goodquality consistency.
