The invention relates to an adjustable hanging basket used for steel beam and a construction method thereof. The hanging basket comprises a hanging rack and a swinging basket; the hanging rack is arranged on a steel beam in a sleeving mode; an angle is formed at the top of the hanging rack and corresponds to a corresponding edge of the steel beam; a shoring element is hinged on the hanging rack; the shoring element is obliquely positioned in the corresponding angle and points at the steel beam; through the arrangement that the shoring element is obliquely supported at the corresponding edge ofthe steel beam, a gap is formed between the hanging rack and the steel beam; and the swinging basket is fixedly connected with one side, away from the steel beam, of the bottom of the hanging rack. The shoring element is hinged on the hanging rack, the hanging rack is arranged on the steel beam in a sleeving mode, and the shoring element is adjusted to be supported at the edge of the steel beam;on the one hand, the hanging rack and the steel beam are stably connected to maintain stability of the hanging rack; and on the other hand, the shoring element is used for supporting and limiting thehanging rack, so a gap is formed between the hanging rack and the steel beam and the situation that the hanging rack entirely abuts against the steel beam is avoided.
