The invention relates to a parking system utilizing an underground space and a parking method of the parking system. The parking system comprises a foundation pit, at least two layers of parking platforms, a lifting device, a rotating device and a control panel. The foundation pit formed in the ground is excavated. The at least two layers of parking platforms are mounted in the foundation pit. Theparking platform located on the top is flush with the ground, and multiple parking spots are drawn on each parking platform. The lifting device is mounted at the bottom of the parking platform located at the bottom and supported on the bottom face of the foundation pit, and the height of the lifting device can be adjusted. The rotating device is mounted between the parking platform located at thebottom and the lifting device and can enable the parking platform to rotate. The control panel is arranged on the ground around the foundation pit, and the control panel is electrically connected with the lifting device and the rotating device. The problems that parking in old communities is difficult is effectively solved, the space needed by the parking system is small, part of the undergroundspace is utilized, the manufacturing cost is low, under the condition that the total greening area of the communities is not affected, the number of the parking spots is increased, and the applicationrange is wide.
