The invention provides a herringbone ladder with a height adjusting function. The herringbone ladder comprises a left ladder rack and a right ladder rack, wherein the upper end of the left ladder rackand the upper end of the right ladder rack are hinged through a first hinged part, a side ladder is slidably connected to the left side of the left ladder rack through a sliding mechanism, the two sides of the upper end of the left ladder rack are each rotationally connected with a first positioning screw, and the two sides of the lower end of the side ladder are each rotationally connected witha second positioning screw. The left ladder rack, the right ladder rack and an adjusting mechanism are arranged, and an adjusting screw rod in the adjusting mechanism in the middle of the opposite sides of the left ladder rack and the right ladder rack is in threaded connection with a first sleeve and a second sleeve; a handle is rotated to screw the adjusting screw rod into the first sleeve and the second sleeve so that the included angle between the left ladder rack and the right ladder rack can be reduced, and the supporting height of the left ladder rack and the right ladder rack can be increased; and the adjusting screw rod is in threaded connection with the first sleeve and the second sleeve, the stability between the left ladder rack and the right ladder rack is enhanced, and the use safety is improved.
