The invention discloses a ceramic tile with a metallic luster decorative effect, and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: applying high-specific-gravityand high-refractive-index glaze to a green brick subjected to matte glaze polishing, and firing to obtain the ceramic tile. The refractive index of the high-specific-gravity high-refractive-index glaze ranges from 1.93 to 2.01, the refractive index of the matte polished glaze is 1.50 to 1.53, the melting temperature of the high-specific-gravity high-refractive-index glaze is higher than the melting temperature of the matte polished glaze by 280-350 DEG C, and the specific gravity of the high-specific-gravity high-refractive-index glaze is 0.27-0.31 g/cm<3> higher than that of the matte polished glaze, so that at least part of the high-specific-gravity high-refractive-index glaze sinks into a molten liquid phase formed by the matte polished glaze in the firing process and is completely or partially wrapped by the molten liquid phase. According to the preparation method, simplification of patterns on the surface of the ceramic tile due to the fact that metal has a color effect can be overcome, meanwhile, the glaze layer has a three-dimensional decorative effect, and product decoration is improved.
