The invention discloses a novel sand-containing multicolor paint and a preparation method thereof. The novel sand-containing multicolor paint is prepared by mixing modified stone-like coating and color particles and is characterized in that the modified stone-like coating is prepared from, in parts by weight, 100 to 120 parts of water, 0.2 to 0.7 part of a de-foaming agent, 5 to 1.5 parts of cellulose, 0.5 to 1.5 parts of an anti-settling thixotropic agent, 1 to 3 parts of an antiseptic bactericide, 6 to 8 parts of a coalescing agent, 5 to 10 parts of ethylene glycol, 0.5 to 1.5 parts of a multifunctional additive, 120 to 140 parts of a silicone acrylic emulsion, 300 to 400 parts of coarse sand, 250 to 350 parts of fine sand and 5 to 10 parts of a thickening agent, and the colored particles are prepared by mixing a base paint A and a crosslinking protective agent solution B. Only a conventional high-speed dispersion machine and a conventional stone-like coating stirring tank are neededfor production of the sand-containing multicolor paint, and only a stone-like coating spray gun is needed for construction. The novel sand-containing multicolor paint also has the advantages of lightweight, safety, low pollution, low cost and quickness in construction.
