The invention discloses a structure and method for preventing a highway base layer and a subbase layer from cracking. The structure comprises a roadbed ground; a soil compaction layer is flatly pavedat the upper end of the roadbed ground; a groove is dug in the middle of the soil compaction layer; baffles are laid at the positions, close to the two sides, of the inner side of the groove; a roadbed is laid between the baffles on the two sides; triangular reinforcing plates are arranged on the outer sides of the baffles; the lower ends of the reinforcing plates are buried in the soil compactionlayer; and drainage pipes are buried on the outer sides of the baffles on the two sides of the inner side of the soil compaction layer. The ground is hardened and reinforced through the soil compaction layer laid at the upper end of the roadbed ground; the two sides of the roadbed are blocked through the laid baffles, and movement of the roadbed towards the two sides is limited and blocked underreinforcing and blocking of the reinforcing plates; the roadbed is prevented from deforming, expanding and expanding towards the outer side under long-term use and rolling compaction of vehicles, theroadbed is well protected, and the situation that cracks occur due to expansion of roadbed genes is effectively prevented.
