The invention relates to an apparatus (10) for placing tarpaulins, having an apparatus body (12) provided with a handle (14), and comprising: - a wire inlet (24) for receiving a fastening wire, - a head (20) for placing fasteners, - at least one electric motor (18) for actuating the placing head, and - at least one first reel-holder (40) for receiving a reserve of fastening wire. According to theinvention, the apparatus body (12) comprises an attachment base (30), which can receive the first reel-holder, for removable attachment of the first reel-holder (40) to the apparatus body (12), the attachment base (30) and the first reel-holder (40) including a resilient lock. The invention can be used in the fields of arboriculture and viticulture.
