The invention relates to the technical field of cable laying, and particularly relates to a cable trench and a laying process thereof. The cable trench comprises a positioning rod, a positioning section and a trench section. The initial installation position of the cable trench is determined through the positioning rod, the installation efficiency of the positioning section is improved, and adjustment and positioning in the positioning section installation process are reduced. The cable trench is decomposed into a positioning section, first bottom plates, first side plates, a cover plate and the like, so that the weight of single hoisting is effectively reduced, the cable trench is convenient to lay, position and adjust, and the construction efficiency of the cable trench is effectively improved; the first bottom plate and the positioning section as well as the adjacent first bottom plate are quickly positioned and assembled through upper convex parts and lower concave table structures, so that the steps of measurement and adjustment are reduced, and the laying efficiency of the first bottom plates of the trench section is effectively improved; and the two second side plates of thepositioning section correspond to the two first side plates of the trench section at equal intervals, so that positioning calibration in the construction process of the first side plates is facilitated, and the splicing and laying efficiency of the first side plates is improved.
