The invention provides a plate installation structure used for building decoration and a construction method. The plate installation structure comprises a first prefabricated plate wall and a second prefabricated plate wall which are arranged in a spaced manner in the left-right direction. A connecting groove is formed in the lower end of the right side of the first prefabricated plate wall, and aconnecting grooves is formed in the lower end of the left side of the second prefabricated plate wall. The plate installation structure further comprises a connecting plate, and the connecting plateis arranged between the first prefabricated plate wall and the second prefabricated plate wall. The left side and the right side of the connecting plate are adaptively inserted into the connecting grooves in the first prefabricated plate wall and the second prefabricated plate wall correspondingly. Upwards protruding connecting pillars are arranged on the upper side faces of the left end and the right end of the connecting plate correspondingly, and connecting holes correspondingly matched with the connecting pillars in an insertion connecting manner are formed in the first prefabricated platewall and the second prefabricated plate wall correspondingly. Connecting sliding grooves are formed in the opposite faces of the first prefabricated plate wall and the second prefabricated plate wallcorrespondingly, and the connecting sliding grooves are dovetail grooves. The plate installation structure further comprises a steel bar framework body arranged between the first prefabricated platewall and the second prefabricated plate wall, and the steel bar framework body is formed by connecting multiple steel bars in a crossed manner. Second connecting plates are welded to the left side andthe right side of the steel bar framework body correspondingly.
