The invention discloses a self-locking brake and a gate machine. The gate machine comprises a monitoring unit, a controller, a gate, a motor and a two-way self-locking brake; the controller is connected with the motor, and the two-way self-locking brake is connected with the monitoring unit; the self-locking brake is connected with the gate, and the two-way self-locking brake comprises a lower base, and an upper base covering the lower base and with a chamber; a lower support seat, a lower rotating disk, a middle support seat, an upper support seat and a rotating shaft penetrating through thelower support seat, the lower rotating disk, the middle support seat and the upper support seat are arranged in the camber from bottom to top; the lower base is provided with a groove, and an electromagnet is arranged in the groove; the lower support seat is provided with a first through hole and a second through hole, and the first through hole is provided with a guide pillar; the second throughhole is provided with a fastening screw; and the outer side of the fastening screw is provided with an elastic component. The self-locking brake has the beneficial effects that the self-locking brakecan be self-locked in the power-on state and power-off state, and meanwhile unlocking of the self-locking brake can be achieved through simple pressing after self-locking.
