The invention relates to a method for improving the stability of a refuse dump side slope through a solid waste composite material. The method for improving the stability of the refuse dump side slopecomprises the following steps: a layer of straw is laid on the surface of the refuse dump side slope; a remediation soil layer is laid on the straw, and the remediation soil layer is mainly formed bymixing coal ash and black clay according to the mass ratio of (1-3):(1-3); and crops are planted on the remediation soil layer. Local materials are used, agricultural and industrial waste is recycledto restore the side slope of a refuse dump, and the risk of landslide of the refuse dump side slope is reduced.
