The invention relates to the field of material surface treatment, and particularly relates to a method for removing oxides on the surface of hot rolled strip steel. The method aims to overcome the problem that a large amount of acid mist and waste acid are generated during pickling of the oxides on the surface of a hot-rolled steel plate and seriously pollute the environment at the present. The method comprises the following steps that calcium carbonate, silicon carbide, graphite powder and an adhesive are stirred and mixed uniformly according to a certain proportion and then are subjected tohot pressing at a certain temperature to prepare a friction block for treating the oxides on the surface of the hot-rolled strip steel, the desorbed oxides are subjected to vacuum adsorption, the oxides can be well removed, dust pollution to the environment is avoided, and when the strip steel treated by the friction material reaches a certain cleanliness, the surface treatment of the steel is finished. According to the method for removing the oxides on the surface of the hot-rolled strip steel, the oxides on the outer surface of the strip steel can be rapidly treated, acid pickling is not needed, remarkable economic and environmental benefits can be generated, and wide application prospects are achieved.
