The invention discloses a rail supporting column suitable for fourth-rail backflow and used for an urban rail transit vehicle base. The rail supporting column comprises steel structure stand columns of a rail bridge, and further comprises a travelling steel rail, and is characterized by further comprising a contact rail and a transition bracket, wherein the contact rail is a fourth rail, and is mounted on outer side vertical surfaces of the steel structure stand columns of the rail bridge through the transition bracket; the transition bracket achieves insulating effect among the contact rail and the steel structure stand columns of the rail bridge; the travelling steel rail is not electrified all the time; urban rail transition vehicles are pulled by an overhead contact net to supply power; and current is returned through the fourth rail. The fourth rail is supported by the rail bridge structure, and current returns to a traction substation through a special rail, so that safety and service lives of a vehicle base rail bridge, electromechanical equipment, a civil engineering structure and other pipelines can be greatly improved and prolonged. The fourth rail does not need to buildwith the steel structure stand columns additionally to mount, so that maintenance operation space is effectively expanded, and construction cost is greatly reduced.
