The invention discloses a rail side derusting device. The device comprises a grinding machine body; a grinding cavity with a downward opening is formed in the grinding machine body in a communicated mode; a vertical steel rail capable of sliding backwards relatively is arranged inside the grinding cavity; a horizontal steel rail is fixedly connected with the upper end face of the vertical steel rail; a damping gasket is fixedly connected with the lower end face of the vertical steel rail; the left wall and the right wall of the grinding cavity are fixedly connected with correction blocks capable of abutting against the left end face and the right end face of the horizontal steel rail correspondingly; and the horizontal steel rail can slide frontwards and backwards between the left and right correction blocks.
