The invention relates to a bridge reinforcing structure and a construction method. The bridge reinforcing structure is installed on a pier, the pier comprises a pier base, a bridge stand column and abridge plate supporting base, and the bridge reinforcing structure comprises supporting devices arranged on the two sides of the bridge stand column. Each supporting device comprises an upper supporting mechanism supported on the lower portion of the bridge plate supporting base, a lower supporting mechanism supported on the upper portion of the pier base and an adjusting mechanism connected between the upper supporting mechanism and the lower supporting mechanism. Each lower supporting mechanism is detachably connected with the bridge stand column. Each adjusting mechanism adjusts the distance between the corresponding upper supporting mechanism and the corresponding lower supporting mechanism. According to the reinforcing structure, the stress of piers is reduced by sharing the pressureof the piers, and the dispersed force is directly transmitted to the pier base by the reinforcing structure, so that the anti-pressure capability of the whole piers is stronger, and the service life of an old bridge is prolonged.
