The invention discloses an edge protection compacting device used for a road roller. The edge protection compacting device comprises two edge protection devices and a edge protection hydraulic unit; the edge protection devices are symmetrically arranged on two sides of a pressing wheel frame of the road roller respectively; each edge protection device comprises a base and an edge protection plate;the bases are fixedly connected with the pressing wheel frame; the edge protection plates are slidably connected with the bases; the edge protection hydraulic unit comprises at least two hydraulic oil cylinders which are correspondingly arranged on the two sides of the pressing wheel frame of the road roller; one end of each hydraulic oil cylinder is fixedly connected with the corresponding base;the other end of each hydraulic oil cylinder is fixedly connected with the corresponding edge protection plate; and the hydraulic oil cylinders drive the edge protection plates to move up and down toachieve pressing-following protection on edges of a road surface. The edge protection devices are additionally arranged on the two sides of the pressing wheel frame of the road roller to achieve pressure-following protection of the edges of the road surface after cement stabilized soil is paved, and the problems that after the cement stabilized soil is paved, a side slope is prone to being formed, materials are wasted, and defects exist in a traditional prefabricated formwork edge protection scheme are effectively solved.
