The invention relates to an automatic railway fastener picking and mounting mechanism and an operation method thereof. The automatic railway fastener picking and mounting mechanism comprises two symmetrically-arranged mounting supports (4), displacement self-adaptive connecting mechanisms (1) are oppositely and symmetrically mounted on the inner sides of lower parts of the two mounting supports (4), and an angle self-adaptive picking mechanism (2) is arranged between the two displacement self-adaptive connecting mechanisms (1). Compared with the prior art, the automatic railway fastener picking and mounting mechanism has the beneficial effects that the mechanism can be flexibly mounted on other executing mechanisms through the mounting supports, displacement in different directions is achieved, the mechanism moves to the position above a spike according to spike position feedback information, and positioning of a fastener during automatic placement is achieved. Railway fasteners are picked up and placed in an electromagnet power-on and power-off mode; through the displacement self-adaptive connecting mechanisms and the angle self-adaptive picking mechanism, the situation that the fasteners are accurately mounted on spikes is ensured; and automatic picking and mounting operation of the fasteners is achieved, and the safety of rail changing operation is greatly improved.
